KUALA LUMPUR, 4 June 2026 — TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn. Bhd. (TNB REMACO) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malakoff Technical Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (MTSSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of Malakoff Corporation Berhad, to explore new opportunities in power plant maintenance, repair and overhaul services.
The MoU was exchanged during the Energy Transition Conference 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre by TNB REMACO Managing Director, Ts. Abidin Sarjo, and Malakoff Senior Vice-President, Thermal Division, Mohd Kopli Yunus.
The exchange was witnessed by Deputy Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), YB Dato’ Sri Haji Abdul Rahman Mohamad; PETRA Secretary-General, YBhg. Dato’ Sri Haji Mad Zaidi Mohd Karli; Malakoff Group Chief Executive Officer, Syahrunizam Samsudin; Malakoff Chief Financial Officer, Mohd Nazersham Mansor; TNB Senior Chief Network Officer, Ir. Mahathir Nor Ismail; and TNB Genco Managing Director, Dato’ Shahrir Abdul Latiff.
Strengthening Power Plant MRO Capabilities
The collaboration aims to explore opportunities in maintenance, repair and overhaul services for power plants. Under the MoU, both organisations will work together to identify potential MRO opportunities across their power plant fleets.
TNB REMACO and MTSSB will also explore knowledge-sharing, technical training and capability-building programmes to strengthen workforce expertise and support the continued development of skilled engineering and technical professionals.
Exploring Third-Party Business Opportunities
In addition to supporting their respective power plant operations, both organisations will explore opportunities to extend their combined technical expertise and MRO capabilities to third-party power plant operators.
The collaboration creates a platform for TNB REMACO and MTSSB to pursue new commercial opportunities, broaden their service reach and deliver greater value to power plant owners and operators.
By combining their operational experience, technical capabilities and industry networks, both organisations are well positioned to support improved asset reliability, operational performance and sustainable growth within Malaysia’s power generation sector.
